Currently
I am currently living in Atlanta working as a creative at Digital Scientists and dreaming up furniture in my spare time.
Experience
I worked with the Atlanta based creative startup People of Resource during the first 10 months of its life. During my time there, the bootstrap company designed and built brands & websites, produced engaging imagery (moving and still), designed interiors, infiltrated a beverage company headquarters to deliver custom furniture, made some inaccurate measuring devices , and moved out of the West End to the Telephone Factory where they continue to reside.
With Charles Garris and the engineering staff at the Flatwire division of Southwire, I captured engaging imagery of the operation and distilled technical information into understandable info graphics for a presentation about their UL testing progress.
For their 15th anniversary celebration I worked for the Graphics, Visualization, and Usability Center on a design/build team to produce acrylic awards that embodied the contribution of the recipients.
Along with Michael Gluzman and Travis Ekmark, I performed and presented research to Thing Farm for the award winning Luckie Food Lounge. I also worked as a production assistant for the midtown CVI retail space.
I have worked with a creative group called Mingle (members include Travis Ekmark and Michael Gluzman) strategizing project timelines, creating presentation documents, and designed logos.
In addition to my time designing,I have been capturing stills on movie sets, of products, and of coffees prepared around the world.
Education
I graduated with highest honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Industrial Design.
While at Georgia Tech I studied for a semester at Lund Universitet in Sweden.
Recognition
While at Georgia Tech I had the honor of being one of the three finalists to represent the school in the Merit Award presentations at the district IDSA conference.
In the summer of 2009 three of my pieces ( credenza 003, mobile lamp, and table 001 ) were chosen to be shown at the opening party of Modern Atlanta’s 2009 Design is Human event.
Physical Skills
I enjoy taking designs to finished forms, either in production or prototypes. I do this through sketching, photography, my operational experience with 3-axis CNC routers and laser cutters, woodworking, and model making in foam/wood/plastics
Digital Skills
I am experienced designing with Fireworks, Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchbook Pro, Sketchup, and AlphaCAM and code using HTML 4, CSS 2, PHP 5, and JQuery with WordPress as a CMS framework. I am also familiar using Solidworks, Kerkythea, and AutoCAD.
